PING Men's G400 Max Driver? Cobra L4V Driver? Wishon 959 OL?

Nope, but I can confidently predict that it's just another driver subject to the same USGA limits as all of its predecessors. meh........................

LBlack14 L4V is historically awful in the sound department. Cobra admitted this when they launched the F7 line - F7 sounds good, F7+ sounds great, F6 sounded good, F6+ sounded bad, L4V sounded worse than anything they've ever made.

Already have all of the above except the Ping. Know that the Cobra is loud, but very easy to hit, just wish it didn't go so high. Wondered about a re shaft? Currently play an Amp Cell. Also have a Wishon 919 and 460 SZ (favorite driver of all time).

85-90 MPH swing speed. Like the Amp Cell, but hit it pretty high even when set to lowest loft. Would the Amp Cell Pro produce a lower ball flight. BTW I kinda have my own personal driving range behind my home and thousands of balls. I can take any of these drivers out, and there is hardly any difference in distance between them. So much for new technology. Just trying to gain a few more yards. 66 years old, short little old man. Used to tee it kinda high, but tee it lower now. Never lost a ball last season. Hit almost all fairways. Thinking of working on trying to swing faster. Home course usually has little roll. Between rain and watering it is pretty soft unless we get a very dry summer and the ponds get very low. The owner is cheap and will not pay for additional, even cheap water. So driver distance is mostly carry.

The Cell Pro would be the lowest spin of the Cell Family.

meagain I can take any of these drivers out, and there is hardly any difference in distance between them.

You have finally discovered the evidence as to why OEM's are the biggest bunch of lying bastages that ever walked the earth!!

What players should be looking for is a driver that they can hit consistently. Not how far. They all go the same, as long as you hit them the same.

Never play an ugly stick, btw.

LBlack14 Center of gravity is lower, farther forward in typical 'pro' heads, of any OEM.

When Spring gets here๐Ÿ˜’, I'll take mine out and see how it differs from the reg. Amp Cell.

Iโ€™ve hit the Wishon 959ol. Itโ€™s long............long left. I never could hit it straight, to the right, or straight right. It mimicked my racing career, nothing but left turns.

I play the regular Ping G400, very accurate , only missed one fairway on Saturday.

The louder the better. I wish I had a driver that sounded like an M-80 when struck. At least it would sound like I hit far.

I have the Ping G400 Sf Tec. Why Ping came out with the G400 which is 445 cc's in the Regular, Sf Tec and LS Tec and then came out a few months later with the G400 Max (460 cc) is beyond me. The 445 cc versions are ~9200 MOI and the G400 Max is ~ 9900 MOI.

They should've just did the G400 Max in Regular, Sf Tec and LS Tec. Several Pros are playing the Ping G400, both the 445 cc and the Max. Seems if you don't want the Sf Tec or LS Tec versions then why not get the G400 Max with it's 9900 MOI?

BTW, the best way to gain a few extra yards is to move up to a short tee box. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, not exactly. What I look for is a driver I can hit consistently and long. These do exist. I hit a 47" DTG 175 very well for almost two years then went into the worst slump of my golfing career. The Wishon 919thi got me out of that slump and it has been in the bag for a couple of years. Very consistent but a bit short in yardage. And 20 yards does make a difference to me in scoring on par 4's. I tried a PIng G SFtec but too much draw bias. Next I tried a Taylormade M2 and after a few shaft changes, bingo. Just as accurate and consistent as the 919 thi but at least 20 yards longer. I might give the Ping 400 a go just for shits and giggles if I can find one used on the cheap. ๐Ÿ˜œ

            LBlack14

Just donated a left handed Cobra L5V to the First Tee Program along with a set of Tour Edge hybrids / irons. I bought the left handed L5V to use the shaft, but never got around to do it. Owned a right hand one as well. Very loud club.

Thinking of maybe a shaft change for the Amp Cell. I generally like the feel of most all stock shafts in Regular flex. Any recommendation of a similar feeling shaft with lower launch and less spin for less than $50.00

              meagain

If you want a low spin driver look at the G400 Ls Tec. It has a more forward weight placement for lower spin. It's typically for higher swing speed players though.
