JeffTilley Gawd, there’s a ton out there with thick top lines and large heads. Taylormade Aeroburner and Callaway Big Bertha (2015) come to mind, plus a bevy of Pings.

Lots of choices indeed. That's why I posted here. I like the looks of Aeroburners and the Cally XR OS.

I really like the Callaways. To me the X 2 Hot is the value play, but XRs are super nice as well.

I have a set of these coming (6-DW). They have some technology that appeals to me (v sole, feel balancing, zip grooves). The thicker top line is progressive throughout the set (thicker in the long irons, narrower in the short irons). A nice set of irons for Cleveland's re-entry into the iron market. There's other YouTube reviews also.

😭....we've lost another one. R.I.P Rick!

Although, I am hearing(unsubstantiated, of course) reports/rumors of someone on the cusp of ordering new Callaway Steelheads, or the above Clevelands. What a bastage that guy must be, eh?πŸ€“

Temptation was too much and I am weak. Plus a 20% off did me in on a set of used Cally XR OS 16's from Callawaypreowned. Got the set of 5 -PW, SW and added a AW to fill the set. I always like having my wedges match the set.

Rickochet Been looking at those Steelheads since last spring, myself. They dropped a hundy last week, so I'll wait them out til next spring probably. Then I too, can be a turncoat.😨

Rex, you have to do what you have to do. It is 2017. There is no longer any shame in component dudes coming out of the closet and going OEM.

Have you checked out the Callawaypreowned website? I have bought stuff there for years. Their CS is top notch and they have a very nice return and buy-back program. Everything I have ever purchased used from them is almost like new. They have a 20% off any single item until the 6th. I got 20% off the set and added the AW in as a single club to fill out the set. $9.99 UPS shipping also.

Thick toplines? Look no further than PING ZING. Get a set with the JZ shafts and you'll have no worries about bent shafts. High straight solid shots. Never wear out and can be retumbled to brand new condition. I have a nice set of green dots, JZ Reg flex.

Every. Damn. Week. I even get email blasts from them.

            For a couple years now.

Was thinking about revisiting the X16 Pros, the best clubs I ever hit.(was able to hit?) That stinkin' FGI made me give them up. Such a whorehouse it was.

Gotta agree on the Callaway preowned site. Great deals and whatever I bought was in better shape than I thought I would see. My wedges still had the wrappers and stickers on them.
I'll be picking up a driver for my son during one of the black Friday promotions...hopefully the bogo.

Great customer service also. I bought a used Xhot driver. Didn't work out but they had at the time a 100% refund deal for 30 days. Cost me $12 to ship back and got a refund very quickly.

Got the Cally XR OS irons yesterday. Super quick shipping from Cally preowned. The ones I got were rated "average" but there are in very nice shape. The A wedge I added to the order was still in the plastic. I was a bit disappointed in the size of the heads. The are actually a bit smaller than my Wishon 870ti heads. Nice thick topline though. I have 15 days to decide if I want to keep them. The clubs came with a True Temper Speedstep 80 steel shafts in R flex. Years ago I played TT Lites and DGS300. Can anyone give me an idea how these might play. I have been playing FST 115 shafts for the past several years.

                  Rickochet

Those shafts are LIGHT. You should notice it. The guys I play with that have those in Cally and TM irons have picked up distance.
