sdandrea1 Typhoon bet you are looking for a 'Play it Again Sports" there aren't you... Giocare Di Nuovo Sport!
Spartan We just got back from a Rick Steves' tour of France on Friday. France is a beautiful country. Have fun in Italy!
Ringoblack Did you remember to pack your clubs? Where are you playing? Any Italian Buzzers out there.
sdandrea1 Ringoblack Did you remember to pack your clubs? Where are you playing? No golf this trip. 48 person church group all travelling together like cows.
pellmell I spent 10 days in Italy 2 years ago. Rented a car in Rome and drove south to Pompei and as far north as Trento with stops in cities in between. The thing that surprised me the most is the food generally isn't good. Two places standout, one restaurant in Siena and a Pizza joint in Bacoli.
Spartan pellmell You must have gone to the wrong places. We were in Italy 3 years ago and the food was great!
sdandrea1 pellmell We just had our first dinner here in Sorento. Food was bland. No traditional offerings. I may have to get back to the states for some good pasta. Pompeii Friday, then Rome for 2 days , then Venice. Hoping for better food. Hotel and scenery is outstanding!
Typhoon sdandrea1 No golf this trip. 48 person church group all travelling together like cows. Oh THAT should be a wild bunch...๐..."hey, slow down there cowboy, that's your second water today".
meagain Weirfan how do you think he affords to travel to Italy He made his wife sell "her" beautiful Corvette!
sdandrea1 Typhoon Oh THAT should be a wild bunch...๐..."hey, slow down there cowboy, that's your second water today". Nice fun folks, but we're all toeing the line......Reverend Fisher is with us.
johnnydoom sdandrea1 Reverend Fisher is with us. Does this mean yโall arenโt giving a boost to the local wine economy?๐ท
KCee Sounds like a great trip! I haven't been since honeymoon 26 years ago. I thought some of the food was great, but you had to go off the beaten path for it. I remember some great meals, but away from the tourist areas and the restaurants looked like dumps from the outside, but nice and quaint inside. In the popular touristy areas, the food was just ok.
sdandrea1 Visited Solerno, the island of Capri and Positano today. Food was awesome! These coastal towns are built on cliffs. It's pretty amazing how they constructed everything on these winding steep roads. They are 2-lane roads barely wide enough for 2 cars to pass and these tour buses negotiate them like it's nothing. The motorcycles pass all the traffic on the shoulders and on the oncoming lanes or just on the stripes that separate the lanes. They are fucking nuts!
ode sdandrea1 ain't that the truth, we were on a bus and it felt like we could have went tumbling down the cliff at any moment......the boats look like the end of a thumb tack you are up so high. Did you get up to AnaCapri? I only wish I had the balls to go on those little cable cars, but I could not bring myself to do it!
KCee sdandrea1 Visited Solerno, the island of Capri and Positano today. Did you go swimming or take a boat in the caves under Capri?
Rickochet sdandrea1 They are 2-lane roads barely wide enough for 2 cars to pass and these tour buses negotiate them like it's nothing. The bus drivers are amazing. I was on a huge Mercedes tour bus in Paris in crazy traffic and the he drove it like he was a courier on a bicycle. Enjoy Steve. ๐
ode sdandrea1 sweet, enjoy the great scenery, food, and culture. I went in ~ 2001 and loved it. Venice, Florence, Siena, then Amalfi Coast (Sorrento, Pompei, Capri) up to Naples and ended in Rome.
