I signed up for a Google Voice number several years ago. Back in February of 2017 a woman at a local company started calling and leaving messages for IT help on it.
She's proceeded to call this number off and on over the last two years. Now, before you think I'm cruel, I don't use this number and recently started looking at the possibility of using it for free home phone service. I noticed she's called and left messages 6 times since March 1st.
This is a transcript of the message she left today:
Hello, it's Joanne. Stacy has no computer her desktop won't even turn on anymore, and we're making an awful lot of phone calls and not getting any replies. Can you please help us? Thank you. Bye.
--- I went back and looked. She's always calling with what sound like simple IT problems. I'm wondering how she's gotten assistance over the last two years given she's just been leaving me messages? I assume the issues she calls about are so simple they eventually work themselves out.
Should I call this lady and let her know she's been calling my number for over 2 years?
For fun, I thought about calling and pretending to be with her IT department and just give her a bunch of ridiculous advice to see if she'd actually play along.
What should I do? Call her? Let her keep calling me...possibly for years to come?
