I studied acting in college. My acting teacher used to tell me imitations were my forte’ . I wanted to be an actor, ended up as an Industrial Salesman for over 26 years. I’ve made a good living for my family.
Since I developed CKD in October, it made me realize how little time we may have here. I’m a Christian and proud to say so, when my Journey is over I know where I will be.
I’ve used my acting skills and imitations in our drama group at Church. Since I started getting sick that slowdown some.
I’ve done some things very few have done and Im thankful for that. I’ve done artwork for Journey for 10+ years, and Van Halen and several other bands.
My artwork is on the drivers I play. Still I haven’t made what I would call a major impact.
It’s not about money, even though It would be nice to build something for my family in case something happens to me.
Even though Journey is a big name, I’ve never made much on them overall. Geek, love the company and love what I do with them they are a small company.
I recently put out feelers to WRFX Charlotte, the home of the Nationally syndicated John Boy and Billy show. WRFX put out a car dealership commercial with 2 guys trying to sound like Andy Taylor and Barney Fife. The Barney actor was ok, but the Andy actor sounded nothing like Andy Griffith. I had several friends and customers approach me after this saying that should have been me in the commercial.
I’ve never attempted auditions in recent years. Had some in college and got callbacks, but I was young and immature. I started off the John
boy and Billy possibility by an email. I’m asking for any advice my Golfbuzz buddy’s can give and for your prayers. If I’m as good as many believe it could open up a new and easier career for me. If I’m not what is needed, hey I tried.
Thanks for reading my thread.
