sdandrea1 It's funny Steve. You and I are about polar opposites when it comes to being sensitive to which shaft is in our clubs. I wish I could just play any club! I had my Nike driver with removable shaft since 2009, and I tried several shafts over the years. Getting the right one made a huge difference for me. With my 915 D2, I have two stock (made for) Titleist R shafts, the Diamana Red M+ 50, and Diamana S+ Blue 60, and they play a lot differently. I also have a closeout Matrix White Tie 5x3 R flex, and it's a lot different from either of the other two. I play the Red 50, and while it could be better, it's the best of the three. It gives me the best ball flight and feel too.
I have a 12.5 degree F7 head with the same Red 50 shaft, that I bought on ebay and re-adapted to Cobra. I CANNOT hit that club!!! There are changeable weights, I've tried different placements and total weight, etc. I also tried an OEM Cobra Fly Z+ R flex shaft. Didn't work so I cut it down to 44" and re-weighted. No bueno with any of that!
I feel that I want to do more with the Fusion, so I think I will try some shaft searching. I'm just a bit disappointed with the resale/ebay pricing of used Callaway shafts. OTOH, I could look at buying and selling them as a rental process. The shipping and fees are basically the rental fee. 🙂
OTOOH, I can't hit a 45.5 inch driver worth a damn, and that's the length that anything I buy will play unless I cut it, which then hurts the resale value. I should just go get fitted for a driver at some place that has all the brands.
