Grab the club by the head and the grip and twist the head, if you are hearing the cracking of fibers, you had better do something. I have seen heads end up in ponds, bouncing down a cart path, flying onto the range etc, it’s not worth it. I have an LD club, I built up for a scramble, 3 holes in, I felt the shaft give way on a drive. Hit the ball and said “shit, that broke”, everybody thought I was nuts, but I felt the head wiggle on impact and sure enough I could hear the fibers twisting. I still haven’t bothered to tear it apart yet, but you just have to shut them down, it’s dangerous to be swinging a chunk of metal around at 130mph and just hope that it holds on. Do what you want, but remember this when it goes flying.
