Congrats on a great two days of golf. 🙂
On a related note... while I was living in London and a member of a club there the two years I was there - one of the guys I'd occasionally play with played cross-handed. He was from Ireland. He sported a 2 handicap and needless to say was very efficient in every aspect of his game. He had a short game to die for, too.
I asked him why he played cross-handed... he used to play cricket back in his youth, and when he took up golf that's the most natural grip he felt comfortable with. He hit the ball 250-260 yards off the tee, and seldom did he ever stray (at least when I played with him).
We were at the range together one day and he was trying to show me how to hit cross-handed. After 3 minutes of whiffing and duffing, he says to me in his Irish accent, "Laddie, yer killing me here. Let's go play now." lol
Great guy, solid player.
We played on the club's league traveling team together. One day we traveled to a club about 45 minutes away in a best-ball club match. He and I were paired together as teammates, and we were taking on two guys from their club. Turns out that our two competitors were from South Africa and Australia.
I looked over at him on the first tee, just to break the tension... "You know, if you were from somewhere other than Europe this would make for a good Presidents Cup match." He looked at me and said, "hardy har har. yer a riot. Just make a few fecking putts over the next few hours, would ye."
LOL... good times. Great guy. Shared more than a few pints of Guinness together that season after the round. 🙂
