No...not that. The missus is still rejecting my advances. Ah, maybe one night...
FGI was the genesis of many things for me. It restored a love for the game that I recaptured decades after a dizzying dalliance in my teens. It introduced me to the term: hoing. golf ho, etc. I became one. I never wanted to keep up with the Joneses, I just loved it that much.
Bad health came knocking and what did I do the last day before I headed off to Mayo for a life saving surgery? I played golf...with the toys acquired during my time on FGI.
Now, the last few days it's been rising...I've been scouring eBay looking at golf equipment like I haven't done in 5 years...and...I LOVED it. I added multiple items to my watch list. I was tempted to buy a sweet set of Yonex N1 CBs... I actually forgot at work and missed the ending. I was disappointed. I'd also added several putters. I used to spend hours and hours just looking at putters. I've seen pretty much everything, I think. I happened on a putter that I'd never seen before and it had the HC. Very unique looking and from the town I emanate from. Company is out of business which just adds to the allure for me. Sadly, it wasn't the center shafted model, but ... I saw it end and thought about it for days.
Tonight, I reached out to the seller and asked him to relist just like I used to do over and over. He responded immediately and within minutes..Voila! My first golf purchase since my Adams CMB's that I still haven't played or hit a ball with.
So, so excited and it's kinda dumb but I actually felt alive a little . Back in touch with something I thought was dead and buried.
Lazarus lives...as does FGI here at GB. Thanks, guys!
