I would have to imagine that the dynamic physics part today is much more advanced/refined than it was back when Evel was jumping.
Just the amount of "cushioning" in the landing ramps, which helps absorb a lot of the shock versus being hard and propelling the rider and the bike in the air upon landing, is a huge dynamic that Evel most likely didn't have it his disposal back in the day.
Not to say that it still doesn't require a huge degree of skill and bravery.... but that those who've come after Evel (including his own son) have benefitted greatly from the mistakes made from the pioneer himself.
Yet I still think they're just as crazy as Evel was. So from that standpoint they're equal. LOL
