Evel was a staple growing up in the 70's.... I'll never forget my parents b-day gift to me with an Evel Knievel bicycle back in 1976.... I was 7 years old and I considered myself the luckiest kid in the neighborhood. All of the other kids were in awe....
I remember taking clothes pins and attaching poker cards to the wheel frames (so that the tire spokes would rub against them, making it sound more like a motor bike).
Good memories. And I remember on more than one occasion putting two cement blocks on top of of one another and using an 8-foot 2x10 on top to use as a ramp... There were more than a few occasions when the landing didn't go off quite as planned and I'd end up driving my gonads up into my intestinals from landing on the cross-frame bar between the handlebars and the seat. LOL... But I'd still keep at it until I could pull it off.
