Agree. While I try to keep my business local, there are simply some items that I can't get right away locally. Nor as inexpensive, and I don't even have to leave my house to have said item delivered to my doorstep within 48 hours.
Amazon has changed the way I spend my money. And although I'm not happy that my Amazon purchase might put some of the national chains out of work - I still have to look out for numero uno.
If Amazon has the foresight and ability to make my purchasing quicker/easier/less expensive, then all credit to them for creating an avenue of business that I can trust and rely upon, versus all the rest who refuse to get with the times in which we live in as consumers.
It's not like Target, Walmart, etc. is forbidden to tap into this same level of marketing.
Let's face it - Amazon has set the standard. The other businesses can either make the needed adjustments, or continue to get left behind.
