Kind of a weird layout. The back is full of trick-shot holes.

Heron Lakes Golf Course - 05/21/2007 - alex
A truly great course, but has one serious flaw. The course is built RIGHT NEXT to the Portland Speedway. I mean, like 300 yards away. We played out there on a Sunday afternoon and the noise from the place was deafening. Engines screaming, tires squealing, etc. We literally had to yell at each other the entire round. It was totally ridiculous.

Not a great golf course. Boring layout and unkept. Very surprised by the poor overall condition of the place.

North Fulton Golf Course - 03/16/2007 - alex
Fun track. Not always in the best condition, but well worth the green fees. Lot of risk/reward type of shots and plenty of scoring opportunities. Couple tough holes also. 18 in particular is a handful.

The Divide Golf Club - 09/04/2006 - alex
The Divide has a great layout with top quality greens. We think you will love playing there. The range and practice area are top notch as well. Only problem that we had with the Divide was the pace of play. The course was loaded with bad golfers that weren't being managed at all by the marshals (or lack there of). Pack a lunch.

Lexington Oaks Golf Club - 09/04/2006 - alex
Lexington is a fun and relatively easy course located just a few minutes from Tampa, FL. The layout is flat and wide open with the main difficulty coming from the many water hazards. The course doesn’t get a great deal of play (we don’t think), so you can usually keep a good pace.

Certianly earns it's reputation as one of the top public courses in the United States. Built on the marshland of Pawleys Island, the course has a georgeous layout with many holes along the water.

Angels Trace Golf Links - 07/26/2006 - alex
A solid golf course, but it won't blow your socks off. Relatively easy to score here, with the biggest challenge being some water hazards off the tee. By the looks of it, most frequented by those over 60. Not really worth the 45 minute drive from Myrtle Beach.

Healy Point Country Club - 07/26/2006 - alex
A great layout that features tight fairways with considerable elevation changes throughout. There are a few Mickey Mouse holes that throw off the distance on the card, but it is a fair test of golf. They used to play Nike Tour events there, so it's worth a visit.

Cobblestone Golf Club - 07/25/2006 - alex
One of the best public facilities in the State. With many holes carved into the shores of Lake Acworth, the course is beautiful and challenging. The facilites are first rate, including an excellent practice facility and clubhouse. The staff is friendly and has some of the best beverage cart service you will find outside a country club. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Cape Arundel Golf Club - 07/22/2006 - alex
Cape Arundel is a good old-fashioned links style golf course. The course is not particularly long, but has a great layout, is in excellent shape and is lots of fun to play. There are very few hazards to deal with, but the rough gets hairy. You can lose balls right off the fairway. Some of the holes are real close to the adjacent local roads also, so try to avoid hitting the oncoming traffic on 4,5 and 12! One more thing you should take notice of as you walk into the clubhouse is the 4 gentleman that are currently tied for the course record. David Toms, Brad Faxon, Fred Couples and Phil Mickelson have all shot 62 there. Pretty cool.

Lake Spivey Golf Club - 07/18/2006 - alex
Spivey has an excellent layout which includes three nines. The greens are the main attraction here, which are extremely ungulating and well kept. The course isn't particularly long or difficult, but is a fair test of golf with plenty of tree lined fairways and water hazards. One the the nines starts out with a par 3, which is intersting to begin in on. They have a nice range and practice facility.

Pelican Point Golf Club - 07/18/2006 - alex
Pelican Point is a typical resort style course. It reminds of many courses that I have played in Florida. There are few trees and lots of water hazards. Every hole is lined with half acre lots. It was pretty nice shape and is reasonably priced. If you are visiting Baton Rouge it's worth the 15 minute ride.

Louisiana State University Golf Club - 07/18/2006 - alex
You might be disappointed in the overall quality of the course. The only distinguishing feature is that it had no distinguishing features. The layout is short, flat and wide open. It is much like playing golf in a cow pasture. Only cool thing is the view of Death Valley in the distance.

White Path Golf Course - 06/10/2006 - alex
White Path is a fun and affordable mountain golf experience. It is not very long or terribly difficult, but significant elevation changes on some holes make the course exciting to play. The condition of the course varies, but usually a fun time for all skill levels.

Kingwood Golf Club & Resort - 06/09/2006 - alex
Kingwood is North Georgia Mountain golf at it's finest. Lush and supremely manicured Bermuda grass tees, fairways, and Bent grass greens define this short but demanding layout. The views are spectacular, but don't let them distract you. This course is as challenging as it is beautiful. Be particularly careful around the greens. We measured them around 11 on the stint meter.

Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club - 02/16/2006 - alex
Arcadia Bluffs, which is built on the bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan, is truly one of the great public golf courses in America. With 3,100 feet of lakeshore frontage and dramatic elevation changes throughout this links style layout, we assure you that there is no shortage of breathtaking views. Make sure you bring your camera!

Bowden Golf Course - 02/13/2006 - alex
Bowden is a fun and user-friendly course with something for everyone. The wide open fairways and large greens make this a course that can be enjoyed by beginners, but the many risk/reward opportunities make it exciting for the low handicaper also. If you can hit the ball far, you can go low out here. Don’t let the yardage on the scorecard fool you though. The length is skewed slightly due to a few cupcake holes on the back. There are also many holes that play uphill and considerably longer than the card would indicate. Holes 9 and 18 in particular are a handful. The Clubhouse and facilities could use some work, but for the money you can’t beat Bowden.

Candler Park Golf Course - 02/06/2006 - alex
If you take golf seriously, this is not the place for you. Otherwise, your $7 dollar investment will go along way on this remarkably fun par 31. The greens are usually a mess, but hey, who cares when you are paying less than a dollar a hole?

Charlie Yates Golf Course - 02/06/2006 - alex
Charlie Yates might be the best short course in the southeast. What this 18 hole Rees Jones layout might lack in length, it more than makes up for in quality. Keep in mind that the same crew that manicures the legendary east lake golf course takes care of this downtown Atlanta gem. No matter what your handicap, you will not be disappointed with the gorgeous fairways manicured greens.
