    COURSE: Woodbrier Golf Course

We have a course that was built in 1966 called Woodbrier which is located next to Interstate-81. Its a 9hole course with the option of 18 (in which hole “18” turns into a par 4 and not a par 3 like on the front 9). The course is very affordable and a great place to learn how to hit a ball…but nothing more. The fairways are non-existent, their absolutely bare and at some points you can see the large rocks exposed so what your heads. The rough also is in poor shape, too dry and also cut way too low. The tee boxes are in poor shape, hard as rock and very dusty (I’ve actually had sparks shoot out the bottom of my driver from a few of them). The cart paths are obstructed by exposed roots from tee’s so expect a dusty, bumpy ride. The greens are a bit thick almost as if their like the fringe. They have drained all water hazards for more play I guess but its definitely taken away from that golf course feel. The carts fumes are also a quick headache. I’ve played much much better in my life but for going out there with my buddies and hitting a round, it can be a good time. Our motto for that course is run and gun because your gonna scoop about 40-60yrds just in roll from your shot.
