Here’s some info to help you guys figure out what you need to work on.
There are only 2 things that influence the flight of the ball. Club path and club face angle. Here’s how it goes:
Club path dictates where the ball starts. For example, for a RH golfer, an in-to-out swing will start the ball right. Out-to-in will start it left. Straight, well, that’s obvious.
Club face dictates where to ball ends up. For example, open face for RH golfer, the ball ends right. Closed face, the ball ends left. Square face, the ball ends straight away from where it started.
Now when you combine those two things, you get the overall picture. In-to-out swing path + open face = a ball that starts right and fades/slices right.
Just look at your ball flight and you can see what you are doing. One thing to remember, though, is that the face is square if it is square to the swing path, not the target line. Just because you aim at something and then swing out-to-in doesn’t mean your clubface is square if it faces the target.
This is an interesting tip. I have been working on a consistent slicing flight path, trying different things to correct it. I do tend to swing out to in. I will be paying attention to this next round.
