Golf Channel Amateur Tour

Anybody familiar with this operation?

It sounds interesting but I’d like to know a bit more about it. I like and respect the Golf Channel but some of these “organizations” are just marketing/survey ploys.

I am familiar with this Tour (formerly the American Amateur Golf Tour or AAGT) in my Region (OH,KY,IN,MI) and it is run very well. With the Golf Channel being added as the Title Sponsor, it should be even better in the coming years. There is good competition and well run events for your enjoyment. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. I guess I’ll give it a go. Probably the Chicago or St. Louis groups, depending on the relative logostics. I’m about half way in between the two.

Well I just started playing on this Tour and it really changed the way I look at professional golfers. I play golf because I enjoy the game but if you don’t know the rulebook like the back of your hand, you might get blind-sided playing competitively. I know I did. I like the way it’s run but just be sure to know the rules. It’s amazing how people change when they are playing for something tangible.

Thanks for the tip, ‘deuce. This will be my first season at this level so will get out the videos and rule book. It’ll give me something golfy to do ‘til spring.
