YES, we did watch the Mercedes Benz event even though the field was only 31 players. What a beautiful golf course, my wife & I played the Plantation course a few years ago on our trip to the Hawaiian Islands. Playoffs seem to be the present theme on the Pro Tours, all beginning with the European Tour meltdowns (Els, Jimenez, Michelson, Fischer) during the past November & December. Sunday’s playoff was not the case, shots were being made, unbelievable how many close putts Daniel Chopra had! Steve Stricker comeback Kid? I think it’s great Steve’s game has returned to PGA form but I DON’T agree with him winning back-to-back (‘06-’07) “Comeback Player of the Year on the PGA Tour” and with the “talking heads” predicting him to win it again in ‘08? There are other players to choose from….The “dominating” duo of “Boo” Weekly & Health Slocum surprised many people for their play in the World Golf Challenge during what is called the “silly season” of golf. I’ve watched Boo on the Nationwide tour in the past, now that he has 1 full season on the PGA Tour, he should have a solid season. Hopefully he has learned how to properly keep your opponents score…:)
