Anyone on here using the claw style of putting or maybe some other putting style other than the traditional or conventional? I was playing around with the claw grip last night and I think I may actually switch.
Claw Style Putting
I putt left hand low, not that unusual but guess it's not traditional. Let us know how the claw works for you.

I have never tried a claw grip on the course, but I have used it on my practice putting mat and I really liked the feel of it. I would say that I would give it a try, but for some reason I have been putting really well lately. I had a 26 putt day about two weeks ago, which is super low for me, so I ain't foolin' around with nuttin'.

I have been working on this method for the last month or so. So far the effort has been successful, although my round experience has been minimal.
The key factors for me have been:
1) Put the left hand on the putter first, the same way that you normally set your left hand, and then bring the right hand onto the club between your Thumb and Index finger. Don't squeeze, the right hand is just along for the ride.
This from a Right-Hand Putter.
2) Then, just before taking the putter back to make the stroke, I lift the putter slightly off the surface. Then just let it go. Less tension, more solid impact, especially on longer putts.
A work in progress, but the solidness of the strike has been amazing, and the lack of tension has been unique.
Oh, and I forgot ... No rolling or breakdown of the wrists.
I haven't had any on course experience yet with my dabble into the claw grip, just putting at home on an indoor mat. However, I do see my putts being consistently straighter using the claw grip than the traditional grip.
It works well for people who have the yips. Typically a right handed golfer who has the yips will yip it with the right hand. Having the right hand sideways can help with the yips. We have a guy in our Quota group who has the yips bad. He started using the claw style grip with his right hand on short putts mainly and is putting better.
I use it with my TM Daddy Long Legs Counterweight putter. I actually switched to it several years ago while using a belly putter. I had developed a habit of gripping hard with my right hand (I'm right handed) and would rotate the putter head to a closed position as I made my putting stroke. I couldn't seem to end it and made the switch to the claw grip to lessen the tendency to tighten the right hand and rotate the putter head. It worked for me.
