Pass up Lakota for another track nearby COURSE: Lakota Canyon Ranch Golf Club FYI.
My brother and I are and have been Colorado Avid Golf members for two consecutive seasons. We recently had the opportunity to play Lakota Canyon Ranch in New Castle, Colorado. We played out of cycle on a Friday the 18th of July 08. I was able to make a tee time through the Avid Golfer website. When we check in, we ask if they would honor our passport. No was the response, due to the fact it was not Monday thru Thursday after 11:00. Give me a break. The parking lot was empty and we had a 10:00 tee time. I drove over three hours from Denver and My brother over 2-1/2 hours from Steamboat. JOHN at the counter was not very polite and as a passport holder we felt more of second class then being treated as a AVID GOLFER. Our $79.99 fee for the passport really doesn’t give us any great breaks on the mountain tracks, especially when we have to travel 3-4 hours. My main point is some of these mountain tracks should open up a little bit to bring more business from the city. I will not be playing Lakota Canyon in the future and will pass on to all my fellow golfers to pass by and go play Redlands. I’m sure they could care less, which is fine. My $90 plus will be spent else where.
I really don’t see the passport being any kind of advantage for the average Joe. Not sure if I’ll continue to purchase in the future.0 comments
