Is
this a look into what could be on the Horizon for Callaway and
its next product release in the States? 6 months? 2 Years?
Callaway makes ultra high end equipment for it Japanese market. The ERC 3 driver features a traditional hosel...WOW! full titanium head and a crown made with Chemical milled Ti technology so its ultra light crown is without that odd sound or terrible feel that the carbon based models give off. Even the stock WD-1000 shaft contains 4 Tri-axial Weave technology like high end Axiv and Rombax shafts use. Everything is top notch and it’s my best guess this new hottie is a look into the future of Callaway golf! The face angle is set at dead square, the driver is available in 9.5 and 10.5 lofts and you can select shaft options like, Diamana Ion, Fujikura Rombax, Graphite Design Tour AD, and more!

The
Mamiya Axiv Driver Shaft is one of the hottest shaft companies
this year. It is said they can add 10-25 yards to the drive
depending on the person. The Axiv line kicks vibrantly while
maintaining a straighter trajectory and longer hang time in
the air. The parent company Mamiya also owns UST and ACCRA shaft
companies in the United States. Axiv is Mamiya's highest end
product. They use the ultimate fabrics, more resistant and stable
in all directions, covering flexing, torsional and shape holding
characteristics. In order to hit a ball long, the most important
factor is how much the shape shift on a shaft could be suppressed
at the moment of impact. In other words, a shaft with strong
anti bending, anti torsional and shape holding capability is
needed. The bi-axel woven fabrics constructed with warp and
filling yarn, used to produce regular graphite shafts have high
resistance for bending but low resistance for torsion. The tri-axel
woven fabrics constructed with filling and two bias yarns at
60 degrees have a high resistance for both bending and torsion
but low shape holding abilities. Thus the ultimate Tetra-axel
woven fabrics constructed with right and left bias yards of
45 degrees in addition to warp and filling yarns of regular
bi-axel woven fabric is employed to achieve highest resistance
for all directions: bending, torsion, and shape shift. With
this tetra axel weaving technology Mamiya-OP successfully developed
a shaft which effortlessly generates longer distance with improved
directionality, suppressing the energy loss to a minimum.
